In 2019, The CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommended catch-up vaccination to all adults up to age 26. For adults aged 27-45 (mid-adult), the ACIP advised providers to engage patients in shared clinical decision-making (SCDM) conversations about the vaccine while considering an individual patient's needs and lifestyle. This study aimed to find what percentage of licensed nurse practitioners (NPs) in Oregon were aware of the vaccine's expanded age approval, how often those NPs were discussing the vaccine with their mid-adult patients, and what barriers exist that prevent NPs from engaging in SCDM conversations around HPV vaccination with their mid-adult patients. To achieve these aims, an online survey was developed and distributed to 1,081 NPs in Oregon. Data from 147 completed surveys were used to answer the research questions. 000010028 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000010028 650__ $$aImmunization$$020673 000010028 650__ $$aAdult$$014319 000010028 650__ $$aHuman Papillomavirus Viruses$$013981 000010028 650__ $$aPapillomavirus Vaccines$$037654 000010028 650__ $$aClinical Decision-Making$$011067 000010028 6531_ $$aHPV vaccines 000010028 691__ $$aSchool of Nursing$$041370 000010028 7001_ $$aMartin, Whitney$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000010028 8564_ $$98a450baf-fa36-422a-b2fb-b2bd3b78b007$$s363178$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/10028/files/Martin.Whitney.2023.pdf 000010028 905__ $$a/rest/prod/0r/96/74/63/0r967463k 000010028 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:10028$$pstudent-work 000010028 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
