However, guidance around weight gain in pregnancy is inconsistent, may be influenced by anti-fat bias, and can lead to feelings of shame and stigma for patients when discussed in an insensitive manner. The 5 A's framework has been shown to be a simple and effective framework for conducting weight management discussions and is associated with improved provider-patient interaction and patient satisfaction with this challenging topic. The specific aims of this project were to ask patients for consent before weighing and to use the dot phrase in 85% of all initial prenatal visits. 000010040 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000010040 650__ $$aGestational Weight Gain$$012900 000010040 650__ $$aQuality Improvement$$039456 000010040 650__ $$aPregnancy$$024523 000010040 650__ $$aMidwifery$$022307 000010040 650__ $$aObesity$$023118 000010040 691__ $$aSchool of Nursing$$041370 000010040 7001_ $$aElliottgreen, Kendra$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000010040 8564_ $$9c8a8a7d4-3763-481a-bf19-8267b32b68b9$$s448978$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/10040/files/Elliottgreen.Kendra.2023.pdf 000010040 905__ $$a/rest/prod/05/74/1s/44/05741s44m 000010040 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:10040$$pstudent-work 000010040 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
