Additionally, it is unclear what factors might lead to the development of SPD. Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) often report a SPD, so the two may share similar causes. Predictors of ASD include prenatal exposure to a Western-style diet (WSD), increased maternal adiposity, and increased maternal inflammation. These factors may contribute to ASD by stimulating neuroinflammation and thereby impacting microglia-mediated processes of neural circuit formation. However, these prenatal exposures and neuroinflammatory processes of circuit restructuring have not been sufficiently explored in SPD. The goal of the present work is to advance what is known about the etiology of SPD. 000010055 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000010055 650__ $$aNeurodevelopmental Disorders$$040742 000010055 650__ $$aMagnetic Resonance Imaging$$021747 000010055 650__ $$aPrenatal Exposure Delayed Effects$$024568 000010055 650__ $$aSensation Disorders$$025869 000010055 650__ $$aMacaca$$021722 000010055 650__ $$aChild$$016462 000010055 6531_ $$awestern diets 000010055 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000010055 692__ $$aDepartment of Behavioral Neuroscience$$041394 000010055 7001_ $$aPapadakis, Samantha L. 000010055 8564_ $$938814dfe-a17f-4940-9897-f792024fc270$$s41351620$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/10055/files/Papadakis.Samantha.2023.pdf 000010055 905__ $$a/rest/prod/bg/25/7f/80/bg257f801 000010055 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:10055$$pstudent-work 000010055 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
