TY - GEN N2 - The COVID-19 pandemic changed a lot about society in a matter of weeks and reminded us all of our precarious position in the world. However, in the months that followed, we saw tremendous strength and ingenuity in the face of a crisis. The rapid development and delivery of new vaccines saved millions of lives, but because this was the first widely used mRNA vaccine, there is still much to be learned about how they can be further improved. In this dissertation, I will examine the antibodies generated by vaccination and SARS-CoV-2 infection, with a focus on how well they are able to block infection.
