Unplanned pregnancies may lead to poor health and social outcomes for the pregnant person and the fetus. American Indians/Alaska Natives are at risk for negative outcomes due to socioeconomic inequity. To address contraception disuse, providers must deliver education and employ shared decision-making within the context of the patient's experiences. The "MyBirthControl" patient decision aid (pDA) offers educational modules and allows input of patient preferences. Efforts are aimed at improving patient/provider engagement and prioritizing shared decision-making during care encounters. 000010121 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000010121 650__ $$aDecision Support Techniques$$017421 000010121 650__ $$aPregnancy$$024523 000010121 650__ $$aContraception$$017054 000010121 650__ $$aAlaska Natives$$012110 000010121 650__ $$aIndians, North American$$020750 000010121 6531_ $$abirth control 000010121 691__ $$aSchool of Nursing$$041370 000010121 7001_ $$aSmith, Corinne$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000010121 7201_ $$aMitenbuler, Sara$$041354$$uOregon Health and Science University$$7Personal$$eChair 000010121 8564_ $$9d53fc93e-fe4d-4107-bdc8-61b10f1e16da$$s3360122$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/10121/files/Smith.Corinne.2023.pdf 000010121 905__ $$a/rest/prod/zs/25/x9/25/zs25x925t 000010121 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:10121$$pstudent-work 000010121 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
