AB  - The focus of this Capstone Research is on addressing the harms derived from industrial agriculture. There are many examples in which humans relationship to nature is one of callous exploitation and ignorance, often caused by neoliberal capitalist ideology and the industrial food system that results from it. My research considers whether we must persist in this system, subsumed in the logic of capitalism and at the exploitative whims of neoliberalism; and whether there are other ways to relate to nature and organize the food system that do not result in social and environmental harms. The research problem of this Capstone is to seek out alternative approaches to nature-society relations and thus develop alternative ways of organizing agriculture.
