An ASIS is a mediation system that provides event-based monitoring and integration over data-intensive, networked services. We describe the design and implementation of the Paradox Active Service Integration System, which we have built as part of our dissertation work. Paradox addresses many of the fundamental issues of ASIS construction. Paradox extends database technology and previous work in data integration to handle event-based processing over autonomous, heterogeneous network services efficiently. We suggest capabilities and metadata that services may provide to aid in the active integration process. 000002414 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000002414 650__ $$aDatabases, Factual$$028965 000002414 650__ $$aMetadata$$011758 000002414 650__ $$aData Management$$013037 000002414 691__ $$aOGI School of Science and Engineering$$041365 000002414 692__ $$aOGI Department of Computer Science and Engineering$$041405 000002414 7001_ $$aBenninghoff, Paul$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000002414 7201_ $$aMaier, David$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eAdvisor 000002414 8564_ $$9b21d2e8e-6bbc-46c6-b092-8f3062facd32$$s24097232$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/2414/files/3151_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$20514654bda3c216b72d9c01569ab58b1$$31 000002414 905__ $$a/rest/prod/qj/72/p7/32/qj72p7320 000002414 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:2414$$pstudent-work 000002414 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
