As computing power has increased dramatically in recent years and digital cameras have become affordable and easy to use, many clinicians are building digital image collections for teaching. Digital image libraries offer several advantages to more traditional analog collections including the potential for distributed simultaneous access by several users reduced risk of image loss and more powerful indexing to aid in image retrieval.
