The interest in this particular study arose mainly from the following academic and applied considerations. While the structural and magnetic behavior of the pure rare earth metals entails a considerably complex behavior which is only partly understood so far, the rare earths in a matrix of more or less electron rich partners, although somewhat less bizarre in behavior, can be studied with greater freedom as to parameters of size and electron concentration per atom. 000000026 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000000026 650__ $$aAlloys$$014466 000000026 650__ $$aAluminum$$014504 000000026 650__ $$aMetals, Rare Earth$$022115 000000026 6531_ $$amagnetic materials 000000026 692__ $$aDepartment of Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics$$041410 000000026 7001_ $$aPitts, J.
