While early Internet applications focused on electronic communication in the government and academic sectors, the introduction of the World Wide Web has increased general interest in the technology. This technology has been adapted in healthcare information systems and as a result, intranets are also surfacing in various healthcare organizations. In the following study, two methods of clinical practice guideline implementation are compared. This study traces the evolution of the Kaiser Permanente Northwest Electronic Clinical Practice guideline dissemination system. It is hypothesized that placing guidelines on an intranet would make this information easier to retrieve retrieval time, retrieval accuracy, and ease of use for empirically evaluated. 000002612 540__ $$fCC BY 000002612 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000002612 650__ $$aInformation Storage and Retrieval$$028998 000002612 650__ $$aPractice Guidelines as Topic$$029950 000002612 650__ $$aHospital Information Systems$$020326 000002612 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000002612 692__ $$aDivision of Medical Informatics and Outcomes Research$$041423 000002612 7001_ $$aStolte, Jeffrey$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000002612 8564_ $$98c0511c8-f924-466b-a295-29678f9bdde0$$s3685109$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/2612/files/3358_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$2f586d11418579e9003278ffaeb424de0$$31 000002612 905__ $$a/rest/prod/gb/19/f6/04/gb19f6043 000002612 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:2612$$pstudent-work 000002612 980__ $$aBiomedical Informatics
