Often these reactions are not well understood, hindering efforts to limit associated risks to human health and the environment. In this study, the kinetics of CoC degradation are studied with respect to addressing two aspects of contamination mitigation: remediation and prevention. Part I concerns the legacy and emerging contaminant 1,2,3-trichloropopane (TCP) and the prospects for remediating contaminated groundwater by reduction (i.e., dechlorination) with zerovalent zinc (ZVZ). Part II concerns the development of kinetic models to evaluate the environmental persistence of novel energetic compounds under consideration for use in munitions formulations. 000002765 540__ $$fCC BY 000002765 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000002765 650__ $$aAnisoles$$014791 000002765 650__ $$aPropane$$024672 000002765 650__ $$aTrinitrotoluene$$027398 000002765 6531_ $$anitroaromatic compounds 000002765 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000002765 692__ $$aDepartment of Environmental and Biomolecular Systems$$041414 000002765 7001_ $$aSalter-Blanc, Alexandra$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000002765 7201_ $$aTratnyek, Paul$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eAdvisor 000002765 8564_ $$90c112d6c-021a-4cf8-930d-7c57c3a095c3$$s29363144$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/2765/files/3529_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$24cc15a6d8416b977d2e4e1566de75737$$31 000002765 905__ $$a/rest/prod/sb/39/78/52/sb397852n 000002765 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:2765$$pstudent-work 000002765 956__ $$aGet Accessible Copy$$uhttps://ohsu.libwizard.com/f/requestaccessibledocument 000002765 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
