000002777 520__ $$aThis qualitative descriptive study explored parents’ perspectives on symptom management for young children (birth–8 years) following Emergency Department (ED) treatment. Thirteen parents participated in semi-structured interviews analyzed for key themes. Three interactive categories emerged: (1) a cyclical process of symptom management from initial concern to restoration of health, (2) provider interactions influencing each stage through communication and interventions, and (3) family context factors such as social support and logistics. Findings highlight the importance of understanding parental views to improve patient-centered outcomes in pediatric emergency care.
