Fecal testing, including fecal immunochemical testing (FIT), has been proven to reduce mortality from colorectal cancer. Such mortality reductions can only be achieved, however, if those with an abnormal test result receive follow-up colonoscopy. Rates of completion of follow-up colonoscopy are low, especially in community health centers, where many Latinos receive care. As part of the Strategies and Opportunities to STOP Colon Cancer in Priority Populations (STOP CRC) project, we examined rates of adherence to follow-up colonoscopy, time to colonoscopy completion, and characteristics of patients who complete a colonoscopy after an abnormal FIT result compared to those who do not. 000002841 540__ $$fCC BY 000002841 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000002841 650__ $$aCommunity Health Centers$$016944 000002841 650__ $$aOccult Blood$$023132 000002841 650__ $$aColorectal Neoplasms$$028197 000002841 650__ $$aHispanic or Latino$$020223 000002841 650__ $$aColonoscopy$$016908 000002841 650__ $$aColonic Neoplasms$$016905 000002841 6531_ $$aimmunochemistry methods 000002841 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000002841 692__ $$aDepartment of Public Health and Preventive Medicine$$041444 000002841 7001_ $$aOluloro, Ann$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$10000-0003-4944-7025 000002841 7201_ $$aSaha, Som$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eAdvisor$$eMentor 000002841 7201_ $$aCarney, Patty$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eMentor 000002841 8564_ $$9caca6849-f1c4-480f-993a-346a8d447c58$$s811642$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/2841/files/3609_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$2da355e7e94d26cba5cd0796b66d41da6$$31 000002841 905__ $$a/rest/prod/kk/91/fk/71/kk91fk71j 000002841 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:2841$$pstudent-work 000002841 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
