To do this, we tested NeoSentalloy wires with and without IonGuard treatment. Our results showed no significant effect of ion implantation or deflection alone. Overall, the data did not support claims that IonGuard provides protection against corrosion or reduces nickel ion release. In fact, when IonGuard‑treated wires were deflected, corrosion increased, as demonstrated by the significant interaction effect observed in the area integration analysis. 000002872 540__ $$fCC BY 000002872 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000002872 650__ $$aTitanium$$027129 000002872 650__ $$aNickel$$022898 000002872 650__ $$aOrthodontic Wires$$023307 000002872 650__ $$aCorrosion$$017128 000002872 650__ $$aHypersensitivity$$020532 000002872 691__ $$aSchool of Dentistry$$041368 000002872 692__ $$aDepartment of Orthodontics$$041435 000002872 7001_ $$aClark, Kathryn$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000002872 8564_ $$9daf086ed-f15f-463b-b3b6-7e5372e150fc$$s5960543$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/2872/files/3641_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$2602b2afcc3ffc6de77126ab81b85b379$$31 000002872 905__ $$a/rest/prod/7m/01/bk/99/7m01bk99h 000002872 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:2872$$pstudent-work 000002872 956__ $$aGet Accessible Copy$$uhttps://ohsu.libwizard.com/f/requestaccessibledocument 000002872 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
