Some women experience a higher degree of physical pain without suffering, while others suffer greatly from pain that caregivers may perceive as modest. In the United States, women desiring relief from pain associated with labor have relatively few options available – especially pharmacological. Non-pharmacological pain-relieving options such as continuous labor support, water immersion, and sterile water papules have been demonstrated to be helpful, but are not always available to women in labor, and for some women, do not provide adequate pain relief. 000002928 540__ $$fCC BY 000002928 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000002928 650__ $$aPain Management$$039572 000002928 650__ $$aNitrous Oxide$$022970 000002928 650__ $$aNursing$$023082 000002928 650__ $$aLabor, Obstetric$$021253 000002928 691__ $$aSchool of Nursing$$041370 000002928 7001_ $$aFuternick, Sarah$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000002928 8564_ $$99acb997d-e7e1-4f55-9db1-310e5652c396$$s201207$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/2928/files/3698_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$2483102a545f1debbd6c3281a00a337ba$$31 000002928 905__ $$a/rest/prod/p5/54/7r/61/p5547r61k 000002928 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:2928$$pstudent-work 000002928 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
