We are resolved to study synaptic transmission as an effort to understand the workings of the brain. There has been considerable effort into understanding synaptic transmission mediated by glutamate, GABA, and acetylcholine. Much less emphasis has been on synaptic transmission mediated by monoamine neurotransmitters, dopamine, noradrenaline, and serotonin, despite their critical role in physiology. The goal of this dissertation is to advance the understanding of dopamine- dependent synaptic transmission. 000002958 540__ $$fCC BY 000002958 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000002958 650__ $$aSynaptic Potentials$$038270 000002958 650__ $$aG Protein-Coupled Inwardly-Rectifying Potassium Channels$$036952 000002958 650__ $$aDopamine$$018026 000002958 650__ $$aSynaptic Transmission$$022820 000002958 650__ $$aReceptors, Dopamine D2$$029977 000002958 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000002958 692__ $$aVollum Institute$$041509 000002958 7001_ $$aGantz, Stephanie$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000002958 7201_ $$aWilliams, John$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eAdvisor 000002958 8564_ $$92a062a99-e8c2-47b6-8809-36b3d0be888e$$s18524905$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/2958/files/3731_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$23e0a509aeef4ab6b523de3caba6ceb33$$31 000002958 905__ $$a/rest/prod/qj/72/p7/35/qj72p735t 000002958 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:2958$$pstudent-work 000002958 956__ $$aGet Accessible Copy$$uhttps://ohsu.libwizard.com/f/requestaccessibledocument 000002958 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
