Major findings of this analysis are that many actors are discussed in conversation who do not have accounts in the system, that a facilitator of the online interaction has the potential to improve communication and the exchange of patient care related information, that online teams in LOOP tend to be fragmented, sparse and minimally collaborative, and that of all the actors in the system, it is the patients and caregivers that are key to well-functioning online teams. LOOP is acting as a critical bridge by given patients and caregivers access to their healthcare providers with minimal barriers, but it is not necessarily increasing the collaborative activity between those providers. Ongoing assessments of the barriers to uptake and participation in tools like LOOP, longitudinal assessments of team activity in different patient populations, and correlations of observed online activity with hard clinical outcomes when available are all critical activities to optimize the usage of these collaborative tools in healthcare. 000002961 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000002961 650__ $$aDecision Making$$017417 000002961 650__ $$aCooperative Behavior$$017085 000002961 650__ $$aSocial Networking$$039805 000002961 650__ $$aCommunication$$016935 000002961 650__ $$aChronic Disease$$016715 000002961 6531_ $$atelelmedicine 000002961 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000002961 692__ $$aDepartment of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology$$041422 000002961 7001_ $$aJamieson, William$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000002961 8564_ $$9beda9242-c855-4598-ae2e-ffbaa6f082a5$$s4603518$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/2961/files/3735_etd.pdf 000002961 905__ $$a/rest/prod/4m/90/dv/71/4m90dv71h 000002961 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:2961$$pstudent-work 000002961 980__ $$aBiomedical Informatics
