Biomedical and animal model databases contain a wealth of information about genetics, genomics, embryonic development, phenotypes, and diseases, presenting biomedical researchers the opportunity to uncover human disease mechanisms. Currently, how- ever, investigators lack suitable informatics tools to effectively meet the challenge of traversing these rich datasets, synthesizing the biology described therein, and identifying gaps in our knowledge that need further research. In this study, I address the question of how a visual analytics tool can help scientists investigate these important biological relationships. 000002962 540__ $$fCC BY 000002962 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000002962 650__ $$aSoftware$$026159 000002962 650__ $$aGenotype$$019486 000002962 650__ $$aPhenotype$$023948 000002962 650__ $$aInformatics$$036046 000002962 650__ $$aModels, Animal$$033025 000002962 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000002962 692__ $$aDepartment of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology$$041422 000002962 7001_ $$aSegerdell, Erik$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000002962 7201_ $$aWilmot, Beth$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eMentor 000002962 8564_ $$9a873a3ca-4e23-4bf3-a250-405a5d6f4157$$s2360209$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/2962/files/3736_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$28411f8c21a6aa611a703ea859ca87f37$$31 000002962 905__ $$a/rest/prod/tb/09/j5/90/tb09j590q 000002962 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:2962$$pstudent-work 000002962 980__ $$aBiomedical Informatics
