Childhood obesity carries additional risks such as asthma, hepatitis, early puberty, social isolation, depression, anxiety and increases the risk for early onset and ongoing adult health problems. The purpose of this public health initiative project is to target public health interventions at the “contextual” level. In this project, education and incentives were implemented to encourage local businesses to adopt a policy for a reduction in the sale and provision of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSB) to children and their families. 000002997 650__ $$aPuberty$$024878 000002997 650__ $$aSugar-Sweetened Beverages$$013161 000002997 650__ $$aInfertility$$020797 000002997 650__ $$aAnxiety$$014946 000002997 650__ $$aSleep Apnea Syndromes$$026067 000002997 650__ $$aHypertension$$020538 000002997 650__ $$aLiver Diseases$$021588 000002997 650__ $$aCoronary Disease$$017112 000002997 650__ $$aHyperlipidemias$$020514 000002997 650__ $$aChronic Disease$$016715 000002997 650__ $$aDiabetes Mellitus$$017671 000002997 650__ $$aDepression$$017614 000002997 650__ $$aCoronary Disease$$017112 000002997 650__ $$aPediatric Obesity$$040261 000002997 650__ $$aPublic Health$$024885 000002997 691__ $$aSchool of Nursing$$041370 000002997 7001_ $$aFried, Kelsey$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000002997 8564_ $$936b1b520-943d-4826-b9e2-540b1845eafb$$s176134$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/2997/files/3800_etd.pdf 000002997 905__ $$a/rest/prod/ff/36/55/58/ff365558s 000002997 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:2997$$pstudent-work 000002997 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
