It is a reactive oxygen species that acutely damages airway epithelium, increasing inflammatory cytokines, and neutrophil and eosinophil recruitment to lungs. The overall hypothesis tested in this dissertation is that ozone inhalation induces eosinophil hematopoiesis in bone marrow, and that newly divided eosinophils will ameliorate airway hyperreactivity three days later in non-sensitized and sensitized animals. 000003049 540__ $$fCC BY 000003049 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000003049 650__ $$aTumor Necrosis Factor-alpha$$027502 000003049 650__ $$aLung$$021644 000003049 650__ $$aAirway Management$$039092 000003049 650__ $$aEosinophils$$018511 000003049 650__ $$aOzone$$023458 000003049 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000003049 692__ $$aDepartment of Physiology and Pharmacology$$041442 000003049 7001_ $$aWicher, Sarah$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$10000-0002-0079-7924 000003049 7201_ $$aFryer, Allison$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eAdvisor$$eMentor 000003049 7201_ $$aJacoby, David$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eMentor 000003049 8564_ $$91c461afe-b9e6-4a35-8ff0-3076ebd82f67$$s74223547$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/3049/files/3879_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$2f6b13c4c1447840780c52c00f3cfd041$$31 000003049 905__ $$a/rest/prod/c2/47/ds/37/c247ds37c 000003049 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:3049$$pstudent-work 000003049 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
