Preclinical and human studies suggest that frontal and parietal cortices – regions critical for intact working memory (WM) – may be impacted by binge drinking during this time. While cross-sectional studies have shed light on differences in working memory brain activation between binge-drinking adolescents and non-using peers, few have used longitudinal data to investigate the development of working memory in the brain. The current study used functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to examine the developmental trajectories of brain response during spatial WM in 55 adolescents. 000003063 540__ $$fCC BY 000003063 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000003063 650__ $$aMemory$$022012 000003063 650__ $$aBrain$$015788 000003063 650__ $$aMemory, Short-Term$$022014 000003063 650__ $$aBinge Drinking$$040232 000003063 650__ $$aAdolescent$$014285 000003063 650__ $$aAdolescent Development$$035141 000003063 650__ $$aMagnetic Resonance Imaging$$021747 000003063 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000003063 692__ $$aDepartment of Behavioral Neuroscience$$041394 000003063 7001_ $$aLueras, Jordan$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$10000-0002-9940-3402 000003063 7201_ $$aNagel, Bonnie$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eAdvisor 000003063 8564_ $$9aad95de9-6dac-47fa-aee6-49b31f227968$$s1239235$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/3063/files/3996_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$29bc49b1713dfe4dfacde0659eef632f5$$31 000003063 905__ $$a/rest/prod/9w/03/23/21/9w0323217 000003063 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:3063$$pstudent-work 000003063 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
