These outcomes include postpartum hemorrhage and breastfeeding/ lactation, both of which involve oxytocin function. Through a series of studies and manuscripts, the aims of this work are to 1) investigate the premise for clinical oxytocin use in postpartum hemorrhage prevention, specifically in lower-risk populations, and 2) assess downstream effects of oxytocin use during labor and birth on lactation hormones and breastfeeding outcomes 000003105 536__ $$oOHSU School of Nursing Innovations Grant 000003105 536__ $$oDean’s Dissertation Award 000003105 536__ $$oPierce/Dean’s Scholarship 000003105 536__ $$oOHSU Dean’s Alumni Scholarship 000003105 536__ $$oEsteghlalian-Campagna Scholarship 000003105 536__ $$oJonas Veteran Healthcare Scholar Award 000003105 650__ $$aPharmaceutical Preparations$$018091 000003105 650__ $$aNeuropeptides$$022863 000003105 650__ $$aLactation$$021283 000003105 650__ $$aBreast Feeding$$015808 000003105 650__ $$aPostpartum Hemorrhage$$020076 000003105 650__ $$aOxytocin$$023453 000003105 650__ $$aPregnancy$$024523 000003105 691__ $$aSchool of Nursing$$041370 000003105 7001_ $$aErickson, Elise$$10000-0002-6655-3500$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000003105 8564_ $$924de4406-776e-4e58-9171-ec91e4e3aa3d$$s2411533$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/3105/files/4064_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$29cd079f777b4359398832786f2a819a8$$31 000003105 905__ $$a/rest/prod/6q/18/2k/36/6q182k363 000003105 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:3105$$pstudent-work 000003105 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
