Born in Portland to immigrant parents, he initially was drawn to a business major at the University of Oregon. Yet he switched to pre-med studies and took his M.D. at the Medical School. He reminisces about school days and his pediatric internship and residency at UOMS. He tells of the sorts of cases, including the last polio outbreaks prior to vaccines. He did two years in the Air Force. He returned to faculty positions as Assistant Director of the Crippled Children's Division, instructor in Pediatrics, and as a Fellow in Cardiology. Dr. Menashe recounts the history of the CCD from a Depression-era welfare program to its current incarnation as the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center (CDRC). He addresses the administrative interlinkages of the different components and how they were affected by the consolidation into a university. 000003237 540__ $$fCC BY-NC 000003237 542__ $$fIn Copyright - Educational Use Permitted 000003237 610__ $$aChild Development and Rehabilitation Center (OHSU)$$041594 000003237 610__ $$aChild Development and Rehabilitation Center (OHSU)$$041594 000003237 650__ $$aPhysicians$$024116 000003237 691__ $$aOregon Health & Science University.
