Morgan talks about his tenure at OHSU. The third director in the Library's nearly ninety-year history, Morgan led it through implementation of the grant which created the Biomedical Information Communication Center. He comments on its development and the administration of constituent parts. Topics of funding and grantsmanship are followed by discussion of facilities and space allocation, and a brief history of the Library from its earliest incarnation at the Northwest 23rd and Lovejoy location. The relationship of the Library to other campus and departmental libraries is explored, as is its cooperative work with hospital libraries across the state. Morgan talks at length of the staff he has been privileged to work with during his tenure, declaring that he has 襱he best staff that anyone could ever want. Finally, he considers his longevity here and attributes it to his continual desire to make a contribution to the development of the Library. 000003238 540__ $$fCC BY-NC 000003238 542__ $$fIn Copyright - Educational Use Permitted 000003238 650__ $$aFaculty$$018865 000003238 650__ $$aLibraries, Medical$$021479 000003238 650__ $$aIntegrated Advanced Information Management Systems$$029162 000003238 650__ $$aSchool Management and Organization$$041897 000003238 650__ $$aLibrary Science$$021484 000003238 7102_ $$aOregon Health & Science University$$010958 000003238 720__ $$7Personal$$aMorrissey, Charles T.$$eInterviewer$$041803 000003238 720__ $$7Personal$$aMorgan, James E.$$eInterviewee$$010549 000003238 8564_ $$9af15df5c-146b-4e16-80db-44a8854d0208$$s136367$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/3238/files/oralhist_69.pdf 000003238 901__ $$aOral histories are considered historical materials. They are the personal recollections and opinions of the individuals involved and, therefore, may contain offensive language, ideas or negative stereotypes reflecting the culture or language of a person, period or place. Oral histories should not serve as the sole source of information about an institution or particular historical events. These narratives should in no way be interpreted as the official history of Oregon Health & Science University, nor do they necessarily represent the views of the institution. 000003238 905__ $$a/rest/prod/vt/15/0j/58/vt150j581 000003238 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:3238$$poral-history-program 000003238 980__ $$aOral History Collection
