Clinton describes how he came to be on the faculty at the UODS (now the OHSU School of Dentistry) shortly after receiving his D.M.D., mentioning notable figures of the school, Drs. Kenny Cantwell and Louis Terkla. Clinton describes teaching in the dental school clinic as well as his role in the evolution of the dental school curriculum, involvement with the dental hygiene program, Admissions Committee, and the Dental Careers Institute. Clinton also discusses the integration of new technologies at the dental school, the challenges and successes of serving as Dean of the School of Dentistry, the development of the dental school at the South Waterfront, and his vision for the future of the school and of the field of dentistry. The interview concludes with a reflection on his 50 years of service to the dental school and the honor of receiving the Alumnus of the Year Award in 2001.
