Satchfield, M.S., R.N., recounts her life and career in the field of nursing. Satchfield begins by describing her childhood and teen years, born in 1922 on a farm in Wisconsin. She then discusses in length her nursing education, earning a Baccalaureate Degree in nursing in 1951 and a Master of Science in nursing in 1964, both at the University of Oregon Medical School. She also talks about working for the Multnomah County Hospital and the Tuberculosis Hospital. Satchfield and interviewer Jean Caldwell then describe in more detail what student life was like at the UOMS as well as changes in nursing uniforms throughout their career and changes in nursing education requirements.
