She has a love of rural medicine and was drawn to internal medicine out of an interest in treating the whole person and nurturing lasting relationships with patients. She is an advocate for compassionate communication. She taught medicine in the dental school and published numerous articles on dentistry and ethics with Gary Chiodo, and projects on end-of-life care with John Benson. Seven years into her tenure at OHSU, Tolle won a Pew Kaiser Mid-Career Award and completed a one-year fellowship in clinical medical ethics at the University of Chicago. 000003284 540__ $$fCC BY-NC 000003284 542__ $$fIn Copyright - Educational Use Permitted 000003284 610__ $$aCenter for Ethics in Health Care (OHSU)$$041922 000003284 650__ $$aInternal Medicine$$020929 000003284 650__ $$aWomen$$027986 000003284 650__ $$aFaculty$$018865 000003284 650__ $$aRural Health$$025632 000003284 650__ $$aEthics$$018684 000003284 650__ $$aTerminal Care$$026847 000003284 650__ $$aAdvance Directives$$028977 000003284 650__ $$aCommunication$$016935 000003284 650__ $$aEducation, Medical$$018223 000003284 650__ $$aRight To Die$$025513 000003284 650__ $$aSchools, Dental$$025773 000003284 691__ $$aOregon Health & Science University.
