An asynchronous, clock‑free IPI architecture was implemented on a fabricated MOSIS 0.35 μm CMOS chip, and design details and test results are reported. Low‑power variants of the IPI circuits were examined and shown to consume significantly less power than conventional methods such as pulse‑width modulation and sigma‑delta conversion, without reducing sampling rate. Distortion inherent to IPI conversion is analyzed and shown to be mitigated by increasing sampling rate. The IPI approach demonstrates robustness to high‑frequency attenuation and suitability for ultra‑wideband transmission, enabling applications in ultra‑low‑power wireless and biomedical sensors. 000000335 540__ $$fCC BY 000000335 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000000335 650__ $$aPulse$$024923 000000335 6531_ $$aanalog electronic systems 000000335 6531_ $$aanalog 000000335 6531_ $$apulse modulation (electronics) 000000335 6531_ $$alow power 000000335 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000000335 692__ $$aDepartment of Science and Engineering$$041447 000000335 7001_ $$aRavi, Sanjay$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000000335 7201_ $$aHammerstrom, Dan$$uPortland State University$$041357$$7Personal$$eAdvisor 000000335 8564_ $$9c4d49662-d34f-4c0a-9fa2-af0d19199e45$$s1486789$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/335/files/336_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$2c0b86abfd34bcfeb5a6d3ad0c60cde69$$31 000000335 901__ $$a<p>These documents are archival records.
