AB  - This paper reviews the basics of Goldratt's Theory of Constraints (TOC), followed by a discussion of how they have been adapted for project management (PM). Some of the benefits and flaws of this management method are described, followed by a literature review of known applications to healthcare organizations, which concludes with a summary of healthcare-specific observations. Note: Project management based on the Theory of Constraints is described variously as Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM), Critical Chain / Buffer Management (CC/BM), Critical Chain Scheduling/ Buffer Management (CCS/BM), TOC-PM, and many others. This review uses ?CCPM? throughout.
