All OHSU employees, contractors, volunteers, and students are required to complete or provide a record that they fulfill their Occupational Health compliance requirements (i.e., immunization and respiratory fit testing). As occupational health resources are only available at the Marquam Hill campus, OHSU staff employed outside of the Portland-Metro area may be facing an inequitable burden and/or expense. To appropriately address this problem, our team conducted geographic information system (GIS) analysis using OHSU employment databases, surveyed and interviewed for current employees in hiring roles across the organization, and investigated several possible innovative avenues to provide occupational health services to OHSU employees far from the Marquam Hill Campus. Our analysis showed that OHSU would be best served by partnering with existing health care organizations already offering occupational health services in key areas where there are concentrations of OHSU employees, as well as devote resources to streamlining the hiring process and providing clarity about occupational health requirements and resources to all OHSU employees in a hiring role. 000041280 540__ $$fCC BY 000041280 542__ $$fIn copyright - joint owners 000041280 650__ $$aSurveys and Questionnaires$$025037 000041280 650__ $$aCommunication$$016935 000041280 650__ $$aOccupational Health$$029022 000041280 650__ $$aEmployment$$018367 000041280 6531_ $$agis analysis 000041280 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000041280 692__ $$aDivision of Management 000041280 7001_ $$aGreene, Nathaniel$$uOregon Health and Science University$$10000-0003-0230-0499$$041354 000041280 7001_ $$aBrown, Adam$$10009-0003-0892-2907 000041280 7001_ $$aGreenberg, Michelle 000041280 7001_ $$aAuslander, Burt 000041280 7001_ $$aXu, Yan 000041280 7201_ $$aAcheson, Anupama$$eMentor$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041280 8564_ $$9421a4702-255d-40b6-ac67-4901cfa122b2$$s92379$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/41280/files/Greene.Nathaniel.2023.pdf 000041280 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:41280$$pstudent-work 000041280 980__ $$aCapstone Abstracts in Healthcare Administration & Management 000041280 981__ $$aPublished$$b2023-07-12
