The magnitude of benefit from SM is thought to be better than the recently reported data from EXPLORER-HCM and REDWOOD-HCM trials. We prospectively investigated the association between SM, patient-reported 12-item Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire (KCCQ-12) and physician-reported NYHA class in a community-based cohort of oHCM. SM ± submitral valve repair is associated with improvement in NYHA class and KCCQ-12 but with a varying magnitude of benefit. 000041530 540__ $$fCC BY 000041530 542__ $$fIn copyright - joint owners 000041530 650__ $$aFemale$$018941 000041530 650__ $$aCardiac Myosins$$033137 000041530 650__ $$aPrevalence$$028804 000041530 650__ $$aPlacebo Effect$$028799 000041530 650__ $$aProspective Studies$$024706 000041530 650__ $$aCardiomyopathy, Hypertrophic$$016146 000041530 650__ $$aHeart Failure$$019939 000041530 650__ $$aSurveys and Questionnaires$$025037 000041530 650__ $$aPhysicians$$024116 000041530 650__ $$aHumans$$020376 000041530 650__ $$aCardiology$$016143 000041530 6531_ $$aseptal myectomy 000041530 6531_ $$acardiac myosin inhibitors 000041530 692__ $$aHypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Center 000041530 692__ $$aOHSU Knight Cardiovascular Institute$$041489 000041530 7001_ $$aCambron, Claire$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041530 7001_ $$aLin, Lucy$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041530 7001_ $$aKim, Morris$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041530 7001_ $$aRashdan, Lana$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041530 7001_ $$aLi, Sarah$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041530 7001_ $$aZhao, Yuanzi$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041530 7001_ $$aGraham, Kellie$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041530 7001_ $$aFischer, Katherine$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041530 7001_ $$aNazer, Babak$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041530 7001_ $$aHeitner, Stephen B.$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041530 7001_ $$aSong, Howard$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041530 7001_ $$aMasri, Ahmad$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041530 711__ $$aResearch Week$$uOregon Health and Science University$$d2023 000041530 8564_ $$947e1a18a-9b6b-4c93-8926-48736517d10a$$s140551$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/41530/files/ResearchWeek.2023.Cambron.Claire.pdf 000041530 980__ $$aResearch Week 000041530 981__ $$aPublished$$b2023-08-15
