Our team combines the discovery of a novel circulating tumor cell population, that co-expresses cancer cell and immune cell epitopes (called a hybrid cell), cutting-edge multiplex cyclic immunofluorescence (cyCIF) for interrogation of large panels of proteins on the same tissue section or blood smear, and powerful software (QITissue) that allows for the visualization and analysis of many biomarkers at once. This combination creates a platform that supports non-invasive, real-time monitoring of disease evolution. We set out to determine if disseminated or peripheral blood hybrid cells (called circulating hybrid cells, CHCs) harbored identical expression profiles as tissue-bound hybrid cells. 000041614 540__ $$fCC BY 000041614 542__ $$fIn copyright - joint owners 000041614 650__ $$aNeoplasms$$022758 000041614 650__ $$aLymphatic Metastasis$$021682 000041614 650__ $$aBiomarkers$$028395 000041614 650__ $$aNeoplastic Cells, Circulating$$022749 000041614 650__ $$aHybrid Cells$$020394 000041614 6531_ $$acancer 000041614 6531_ $$aQITissue 000041614 6531_ $$acirculating hybrid cells 000041614 6531_ $$ametastatic disease 000041614 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000041614 692__ $$aDepartment of Cell, Developmental and Cancer Biology$$041399 000041614 7001_ $$aWhalen, Riley$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041614 7001_ $$aJones, Jocelyn$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041614 7001_ $$aAnderson, Ashley N.$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041614 7001_ $$aSims, Zachary$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041614 7001_ $$aChang, Young Hwan$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041614 7001_ $$aGibbs, Summer L.$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041614 7001_ $$aWong, Melissa H.$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041614 711__ $$aResearch Week$$uOregon Health and Science University$$d2023 000041614 8564_ $$99e6c56e9-62ac-4e39-9687-32d218bc6c2b$$s53164$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/41614/files/ResearchWeek.2023.Whalen.Riley.pdf 000041614 980__ $$aResearch Week 000041614 981__ $$aPublished$$b2023-08-21
