Healing Hurt People (HHP) is a hospital-based violence intervention program (HVIP) run by the Portland Opportunities Industrialization Center and offered at Oregon Health & Science University. Intensive Case Managers intervene with young people of color within hours of violent injury and provide wraparound support services. HVIPs have been shown to reduce violence recidivism, hospital costs, and criminal justice system involvement among victims of violence. However, facilitators and barriers to successful implementation of HVIP programs are relatively undocumented, as are methods to collect and leverage data and patient stories to bolster program adoption and maintenance. 000041650 540__ $$fCC BY 000041650 542__ $$fIn copyright - joint owners 000041650 650__ $$aGun Violence$$012931 000041650 650__ $$aRecidivism$$012496 000041650 650__ $$aViolence$$027826 000041650 650__ $$aSocial Determinants of Health$$040530 000041650 651__ $$aOregon$$041094 000041650 6531_ $$ahospital-based violence intervention program 000041650 6531_ $$ainjury prevention 000041650 6531_ $$atrauma care 000041650 6531_ $$atrauma 000041650 6531_ $$ahealing hurt people 000041650 691__ $$aOHSU-PSU School of Public Health$$041366 000041650 7001_ $$aCarlson, Kathleen$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041650 7001_ $$aMoore, Roy$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041650 7001_ $$aWong, Heather$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041650 7001_ $$aCerra, Nicole$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041650 7001_ $$aBell, Ayanna K.$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041650 7001_ $$aBerryhill, Jody$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041650 711__ $$aResearch Week$$uOregon Health and Science University$$d2023 000041650 8564_ $$946774b7c-6abc-49dc-912e-8d9614ff221c$$s310991$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/41650/files/ResearchWeek.2023.Carlson.Kathleen.pdf 000041650 980__ $$aResearch Week 000041650 981__ $$aPublished$$b2023-08-25
