Cognitive function, mainly executive function, is essential for safe balance. Recent studies have revealed that neuropsychological assessments (e.g., Montreal Cognitive Assessment [MoCA]) are related with static balance in people with PD. Here, we used the Mini Balance Evaluation System Test (Mini-BESTest) to assess static and dynamic balance. We aimed to investigate if instrumented assessment of executive function (a Tablet-based Cognitive Assessment Tool [TabCAT]) and the clinical global cognition (MoCA) can explain the variation in the Mini-BEST score and its subscores in people with PD. 000041887 540__ $$fCC BY 000041887 542__ $$fIn copyright - joint owners 000041887 650__ $$aExecutive Function$$038584 000041887 650__ $$aJudgment$$021126 000041887 650__ $$aParkinson Disease$$023617 000041887 650__ $$aPostural Balance$$018559 000041887 650__ $$aCognition$$016868 000041887 650__ $$aChronic Disease$$016715 000041887 650__ $$aMovement Disorders$$022476 000041887 650__ $$aParkinsonian Disorders$$032648 000041887 650__ $$aSynucleinopathies$$013171 000041887 6531_ $$amini balance evaluation system test 000041887 6531_ $$acognitive assessment tools 000041887 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000041887 692__ $$aDepartment of Neurology$$041431 000041887 7001_ $$aHarker, Graham$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041887 7001_ $$aSilva-Batista, Carla$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041887 7001_ $$aCarlson-Kuhta, Patricia$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041887 7001_ $$aRagothaman, Anjani$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041887 7001_ $$aEllison, Jacqueline$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041887 7001_ $$aHorak, Fay B.$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041887 7001_ $$aMancini, Martina$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000041887 711__ $$aResearch Week$$uOregon Health and Science University$$d2023 000041887 8564_ $$9649eb9c9-c669-42a3-a67a-3eec11a3710f$$s1102287$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/41887/files/ResearchWeek.2023.Harker.Graham.pdf 000041887 980__ $$aResearch Week 000041887 981__ $$aPublished$$b2023-09-13
