Computed tomography (CT) scans provide an objective measure of skeletal muscle mass and adipose tissue, which can then be used to determine skeletal muscle loss and level of adiposity. The objective of this study was to evaluate the relationship between muscle assessment through the NFPE with muscle assessment through CT imaging, and how excess adiposity impacts this relationship. This study supports the use of the NFPE for muscle assessment, and suggests that excess adiposity may influence the accuracy of the NFPE. 000042007 540__ $$fCC BY 000042007 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000042007 650__ $$aTomography, X-Ray Computed$$027158 000042007 650__ $$aBody Composition$$015696 000042007 650__ $$aAdipose Tissue$$014265 000042007 650__ $$aPhysical Examination$$024105 000042007 650__ $$aNutrition Assessment$$028507 000042007 650__ $$aMuscle, Skeletal$$030835 000042007 6531_ $$act scan 000042007 6531_ $$anutrition focused physical exam 000042007 6531_ $$amid-upper arm circumference 000042007 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000042007 692__ $$aGraduate Programs in Human Nutrition$$041470 000042007 7001_ $$aMcNairn, Megan 000042007 7201_ $$aMcGuire, Julie$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$eAdvisor$$7Personal 000042007 8564_ $$943e1f1cb-1447-405b-94b0-04ed9611fc37$$s1359567$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/42007/files/McNairn.Megan.2023.pdf 000042007 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:42007$$pstudent-work 000042007 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations 000042007 981__ $$aPublished$$b2023-09-22
