The unlined wooden box has a metal clasp and hinges, and bears a printed label on the inner lid: Bracelet stethoscope, a blood pressure stethoscope, Bowles patent, made by G.P. Pilling & Son Co., Philadelphia, Pa., USA. The case contains: 1) stethoscope bracelet with cover, 2) ivory-handled minor surgery knife, 3) two glass tubes, 4) leather folder containing thirteen suture needles, 5) ear pieces and rubber tubing, and 6) thermometer apparatus.
