For some cancers such as melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer, and B-cell lymphomas, immunotherapy options have been transformative and some patients respond even in the most aggressive and refractory cases. Despite the optimism surrounding various immune-based approaches, many patients still don’t respond to treatment and the reasons why are poorly understood. The disparity in responses across patients and cancer types has highlighted a dire need for a better mechanistic understanding of the factors involved in therapeutic response to immunotherapies; supported by tools that help define which patients will benefit from these novel treatment options. While a variety of approaches exist in the immunotherapy space, some with systemic affects and others focused on specific immune targets, all approaches rely heavily on the adaptive immune system and response to class I antigens. 000042312 540__ $$fCC BY 000042312 542__ $$fPublic domain 000042312 650__ $$aAntigen Presentation$$030374 000042312 650__ $$aImmunotherapy$$020724 000042312 650__ $$aProstatic Neoplasms$$024731 000042312 6531_ $$aantigen processing 000042312 6531_ $$aprostate cancer 000042312 6531_ $$apepsickle 000042312 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000042312 692__ $$aDepartment of Biomedical Engineering$$041397 000042312 7001_ $$aWeeder, Benjamin 000042312 8564_ $$94d6ed4be-1552-4215-ae46-bf8121537d25$$s6347885$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/42312/files/Weeder.Benjamin.2023.pdf 000042312 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:42312$$pstudent-work 000042312 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations 000042312 981__ $$aPublished$$b2023-11-07
