Hurd describes in detail the physical spaces of the hospital - which were innovative for the time - as well as financing concerns, the ever-present needs for expanding space and services, the governance by Lutheran churches near Portland, and support by the numerous doctors and nurses providing care for the people in their community. This talk was read before the University of Oregon Medical School History Club. 000042327 542__ $$fPublic Domain 000042327 600__ $$aLegacy Emanuel Medical Center (Portland, OR)$$010483 000042327 600__ $$aEmanuel Hospital.
