      abstract = {This presentation describes how the Food Systems and  Society (FSS), M.S. program at OHSU applies concepts from  critical pedagogy (see Valley et al. 2022, Allen and Gillon  2022) and systematic learning reflection (see Ryan 2013) to  address the OHSU Core Competency of Community Engagement,  Social Justice and Equity. The FSS program foregrounds and  embodies OHSU's commitment to social justice and equity  through innovative online education that expands access,  centers social justice in coursework, and emphasizes  student experience in realizing social change. Yet,  consistent progress toward OHSU's social justice core  competency requires specific and coordinated  cross-curricular instruction, assignment approaches, and  assessment practices.},
