TY - GEN AB - Sepsis is a life-threatening condition caused by an infectious agent that is responsible for significant mortality world-wide. In order to standardize sepsis-related care, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Quality Initiatives have incorporated evidence-based guidelines set forth by the Surviving Sepsis Campaign in the format of SEP-1 bundle. People who use drugs (PWUD) are at higher risk for developing sepsis and septic shock. Thus, the aim of this project was to determine if the SEP-1 bundle set forth by CMS is met for PWUD with comparable compliance to patients who do not use drugs at a regional medical center.
