Specifically those practicing anesthesia, such as certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNA), have one of the highest rates of SUDs due to the high stress environment and ability to access medications. Oregon no longer has an ATD program. This leaves all registered nurses (RNs), including advanced practice nurses (APRNS) and CRNA’s, unable to seek a third party program for assistance and rehabilitation with a SUD. The board of nursing (BON) now has control to revoke licenses and deliver repercussions as they see fit, without an alternative option for nurses struggling with SUD. Oregon must reinstate a third party ATD program to protect nurses and offer a non-punitive option to rehabilitate without fear of losing licensure. 000042901 540__ $$fCC BY 000042901 542__ $$fIn copyright - joint owners 000042901 650__ $$aNurse Anesthetists$$023072 000042901 650__ $$aSubstance-Related Disorders$$032029 000042901 650__ $$aAdvanced Practice Nursing$$038882 000042901 651__ $$aOregon$$041094 000042901 6531_ $$aalternative to discipline 000042901 691__ $$aSchool of Nursing$$041370 000042901 692__ $$aDepartment of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine$$041393 000042901 7001_ $$aHuber (Closs), Emily$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000042901 7001_ $$aPrinz, Lyndsay$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000042901 8564_ $$941c42f56-19ce-4af1-b11d-2eb27af279a1$$s413716$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/42901/files/Huber.Emily.2024_poster.pdf 000042901 8564_ $$9ccde97eb-56ba-4982-9a76-abd938d20f3b$$s222955$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/42901/files/Huber.Emily.2024_paper.pdf 000042901 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:42901$$pstudent-work 000042901 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations 000042901 981__ $$aPublished$$b2024-05-21
