Tanner's Clinical Judgment Model highlights the importance of nurses' backgrounds and how they influence personal beliefs, biases, and clinical judgments, as well as intent to practice in a particular care setting. There has been little research conducted to understand how having a personal background of living with or caring for someone with a mental illness influences nursing students' experiences caring for a client with a mental illness and how these experiences may influence students' intent to practice in mental health settings in the future. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine clinical experiences of undergraduate nursing students in mental health settings who have personal backgrounds with mental health conditions. 000042956 540__ $$fCC BY 000042956 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000042956 650__ $$aStudents, Nursing$$026493 000042956 650__ $$aEducation, Nursing$$018228 000042956 650__ $$aEducation, Nursing, Baccalaureate$$018230 000042956 650__ $$aMental Health$$022046 000042956 650__ $$aMental Disorders$$015415 000042956 650__ $$aQualitative Research$$034737 000042956 650__ $$aBias$$028791 000042956 6531_ $$aclinical judgment 000042956 691__ $$aSchool of Nursing$$041370 000042956 7001_ $$10000-0002-6954-4677$$aRoach, Ashley$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000042956 8564_ $$979741b2e-4672-46b8-9b4e-4ab884dd6449$$s924064$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/42956/files/Abstract_SEE2024_RoachAshley.pdf 000042956 980__ $$aOHSU Symposium on Educational Excellence (SEE)
