Underrepresented minority (URM) youth face many barriers contributing to this disparity, including limited exposure to health careers, lack of concordant mentors, and lack of academic preparation. Doctor For A Day (DFAD) aims to create a parallel plane for education and mentorship for URM students. DFAD partners with community organizations across the greater Seattle area to host monthly workshops. 000042975 540__ $$fCC BY 000042975 542__ $$fIn copyright - joint owners 000042975 650__ $$aDiversity, Equity, Inclusion$$013904 000042975 650__ $$aAdolescent$$014285 000042975 650__ $$aMentoring$$011757 000042975 650__ $$aStudents, Medical$$026492 000042975 650__ $$aSchools, Medical$$025775 000042975 650__ $$aSelf Efficacy$$032365 000042975 650__ $$aMinority college students--Recruiting$$041710 000042975 650__ $$aHealth Services Accessibility$$019904 000042975 6531_ $$afaculty development 000042975 6531_ $$athird places in academia 000042975 7001_ $$aPatel, Kareena$$uUniversity of Washington 000042975 7001_ $$aColer, Celeste$$uUniversity of Washington 000042975 7001_ $$aCoronado, Nora$$uUniversity of Washington 000042975 7001_ $$aWilliams, Estell$$uUniversity of Washington 000042975 8564_ $$9ceaff2b6-30a6-4a26-bd6f-f859f7e5ff83$$s541327$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/42975/files/Abstract_SEE2024_PatelKareena.pdf 000042975 980__ $$aOHSU Symposium on Educational Excellence (SEE)
