Training in technical data collection and information analysis is typically emphasized, though development of other critical skills has gained traction as non-dispensable. Trainees in biomedical programs represent visible and non-visible diversity as they navigate university and academic research systems, to pursue access to workforce networks, jobs, and education beyond a Bachelor's degree. Due to the historical exclusion of most populations from university education, academic and research systems were not designed for diverse students. This presentation shares perspectives on supporting cultural and economic equity into conversation with the UDL literature, and facilitates discussion about its integration into biomedical science training programs. 000042993 540__ $$fCC BY 000042993 542__ $$fIn copyright - joint owners 000042993 650__ $$aBiomedical Research$$034689 000042993 650__ $$aMental Health$$022046 000042993 650__ $$aUniversal Design$$013143 000042993 650__ $$aCOVID-19$$013515 000042993 650__ $$aCurriculum$$017249 000042993 650__ $$aStudents$$026489 000042993 650__ $$aHealth Inequities$$013830 000042993 6531_ $$aundergraduate support 000042993 6531_ $$agraduate support 000042993 6531_ $$aacademia 000042993 691__ $$aOHSU-PSU School of Public Health$$041366 000042993 7001_ $$aRaz Link, Aaron$$uPortland State University$$041357 000042993 7001_ $$aEspinosa, Shanthia N.$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000042993 7001_ $$aAutry, Sarah E.D.$$uPortland State University$$041357 000042993 7001_ $$aGlass, Mathern$$uPortland State University$$041357 000042993 7001_ $$aParis, Stephanie E.$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000042993 7001_ $$aAdams Wiggins, Karlyn R.$$uPortland State University$$041357 000042993 7001_ $$aAgulto, Rose$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000042993 7001_ $$aMarriott, Lisa K.$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000042993 8564_ $$973454bae-9af5-4a89-8bae-0bbb72f0fffb$$s499918$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/42993/files/Abstract_SEE2024_LinkAaron.pdf 000042993 980__ $$aOHSU Symposium on Educational Excellence (SEE)
