This study examined factors associated with patient activation in an HIV‑positive population, including demographic characteristics, perceived social status, substance use, and depression. We also evaluated associations between patient activation and key clinical outcomes: CD4 cell count, adherence to highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART), and viral suppression. Findings contribute to understanding how patient activation influences HIV care engagement and clinical management. 000000433 540__ $$fCC BY 000000433 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000000433 650__ $$aChronic Disease$$016715 000000433 650__ $$aSelf Care$$025840 000000433 650__ $$aMedication Adherence$$038180 000000433 650__ $$aSocial Status$$013833 000000433 650__ $$aSubstance-Related Disorders$$032029 000000433 650__ $$aAntiretroviral Therapy, Highly Active$$033014 000000433 650__ $$aPatient Participation$$023673 000000433 650__ $$aDepression$$017614 000000433 650__ $$aDemography$$017465 000000433 650__ $$aHIV Infections$$028555 000000433 650__ $$aHIV$$020258 000000433 6531_ $$apatient activation 000000433 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000000433 692__ $$aDepartment of Public Health and Preventive Medicine$$041444 000000433 7001_ $$aMarshall, Rebecca$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000000433 8564_ $$923d384d3-51ae-4c8f-aa25-03b44c0a14bb$$s333923$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/433/files/434_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$2961d36e91fd88253f9c2b8fe4fde816b$$31 000000433 901__ $$a<p>These documents are archival records.
