Evidence suggests that early identification of frail geriatric patients is required to anticipate the management of chronic conditions and discuss goals of care, while attending to acute trauma needs as suggested by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) directives for geriatric Trauma Quality Improvement Project (TQIP) Guidelines. The trauma department (TD) where this quality improvement (QI) project took place has seen a rise in geriatric trauma and the complexity of care for this population. Currently, providers lack the knowledge to assess geriatric trauma frailty, leading to non-standardized care. The aim of this QI project was to create an educational presentation on the Rockwood Clinical Frailty Scale (CFS) to improve provider knowledge on geriatric frailty and implement this assessment into the electronic health record (EHR). 000043376 540__ $$fNo License 000043376 542__ $$fPublic domain 000043376 650__ $$aFrail Elderly$$029070 000043376 650__ $$aGeriatric Assessment$$028498 000043376 6531_ $$atrauma 000043376 691__ $$aSchool of Nursing$$041370 000043376 7001_ $$aVillegas, Janice$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000043376 8564_ $$94f3bf3ee-ede4-4e99-b0b7-847599bb1b1e$$s974176$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/43376/files/Villegas.Janice.2024.pdf 000043376 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:43376$$pstudent-work 000043376 980__ $$aScholarly Project Capstones 000043376 981__ $$aPublished$$b2024-06-13
