Pediatric metabolic syndrome and obesity management is a growing concern for children. The consequences of children not managing this health concern with proper nutrition, physical activity, and support from family can result in chronic conditions. This research serves as an exploration into how the pediatric clinics are currently structured. The recommendations show how improvements can contribute to better health outcomes in pediatric obesity patients. The objective is to align OHSU pediatric obesity serving clinics within to the institutions commitment to provide the highest quality patient and family centered care. By adding or expanding resources offered to children, this research aims to enhance children's health outcomes through improved clinical workflows, referral processes, parent support programs, and addressing the lack of social determinants of health primarily through food insecurity. 000043425 540__ $$fCC BY 000043425 542__ $$fIn copyright - joint owners 000043425 650__ $$aPediatric Obesity$$040261 000043425 650__ $$aMetabolic Syndrome$$033150 000043425 650__ $$aPatient Care Team$$023663 000043425 650__ $$aObesity Management$$012140 000043425 650__ $$aSocial Determinants of Health$$040530 000043425 650__ $$aResource Allocation$$035056 000043425 650__ $$aFood Insecurity$$013447 000043425 651__ $$aOregon$$041094 000043425 6531_ $$apediatric referrals 000043425 6531_ $$amultidisciplinary care 000043425 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000043425 692__ $$aDivision of Management$$041635 000043425 7001_ $$aAiello, Sofia$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000043425 7001_ $$aHorsley, Shamaya$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000043425 7001_ $$aMurphy, Katie$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000043425 7201_ $$aMedlock, Lavon$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$eMentor$$7Personal 000043425 8564_ $$984b3449f-9c6e-4029-94eb-bf8dd63c9d3a$$s98599$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/43425/files/OM_MD_Improvements_2024.pdf 000043425 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:43425$$pstudent-work 000043425 980__ $$aCapstone Abstracts in Healthcare Administration & Management 000043425 981__ $$aPublished$$b2024-06-19
