The taboo placed upon the discussions of the genito-infectious diseases is undoubtedly due to the fact that, in the majority of cases the method of transmission of these diseases is through sexual intercourse, and by discussion of any topic concerning sex, even though this performance is in itself fundamental to the propagation of the human race, has been ostracized by the all-important public opinion for so long a time. These problems of venereal disease control have been switched from a societal hygiene problem to a public health program. With the information concerning gonorrhea and syphilis which we now have at hand, and the public attitude towards gonorrhea and syphilis which we are now creating, it should be possible to entirely rid civilization of these diseases. 000043812 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000043812 650__ $$aSyphilis$$026720 000043812 650__ $$aSexually Transmitted Diseases$$025937 000043812 650__ $$aGonorrhea$$019702 000043812 650__ $$aCoitus$$016872 000043812 691__ $$aUO Medical School$$041362 000043812 692__ $$aUOMS Department of Nursing Education$$041452 000043812 7001_ $$aMumm, Daphne$$uUniversity of Oregon$$041359 000043812 8564_ $$9f1b8b22c-3249-405e-a6a9-24c2bfa5b962$$s6878652$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/43812/files/Mumm.Daphne.1939.pdf$$ePublic$$25473098de0eef434e0eef01f725ad152$$31 000043812 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:43812$$qstudent-work 000043812 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
