The case has a tooled design on front and back, silver clasp, and red velvet lining. The case folds out into three sections, and there are compartments behind the top and bottom sections. The manufacturers name is stamped on the inner flap. The set contains: 1) two artery forceps, one plain and one with a clasp, 2) Peans curved artery forceps, 3) spatula and tongue tie, 4) ivory-handled tenaculum, 5) tenaculum and gum lance with tortoise shell handle, 6) probe point bistoury with tortoise shell handle, 7) two male catheters, 8) two female catheters, 9) catheter holder, 10) director and ear spoon, 11) silver probe with eye, 12) thumb lancet in a shell case, 13) tin ear knife with case, 14) set of assorted needles, and 15) cotton suture material. The kit was donated by J.A. Reuter of McMinnville, Oregon, in November 1960. It had belonged to his father, J.A. Reuter, M.D., who practiced in The Dalles, Oregon.
