TY - GEN AB - This dissertation showcases three independent studies that address various unknown aspects of a paraneoplastic syndrome called melanoma-associated retinopathy (MAR). Through the analysis of a MAR patient's disease evolution and the development and implementation of a novel bioassay, this text contributes substantially to our understanding of MAR pathology. These clinical findings may shape future MAR diagnosis and treatment, and the mechanism discoveries may guide strategies for therapeutic intervention or disease prevention.
